West/Central Tour:  Thursday Sept 20

10:30 – 11:00
Stop 1 – Oyster Cove Farms | North end of Clermont Rd (Rt 106) come in off Hamilton Rd (watch for vehicles)
This location features a 4R field scale demonstration by the Kensington North Watershed Group looking at varying rates of nitrogen by incorporating use of slow release nitrogen products on Russet Burbanks. (Grower used 180 lbs of N with 50 lbs being slow release as preplant broadcast in comparison to 160 lbs N with 60lbs slow release applied foliar).

11:15 – 12:00
Stop 2 – Mull na Beinne Farms | Just across from 1010 Rte 20, Indian River (watch for flags)
This location features two trials: A) Field scale comparison of a Nitrogen efficiency enhancer vs Urea as preplant broadcast applications providing 33% of the crops’ nitrogen requirement; B) 4R Right Rate trial (in conjunction with Dr David Burton, Dalhousie Faculty of Agriculture) – replicated trial evaluating several rates of nitrogen application on Russet Burbank potatoes.

Free BBQ lunch will be served at noon.

East Tour:  Friday Sept 21

11:00-12:00 – Rollo Bay Holdings | just north of 1245 Rte 305 (Souris Line Rd)
This location features two trials: A) 4R trial evaluating ‘newer’ 4R candidate best management practices with conventional grower standard practices on fresh market Russet Burbank potatoes; B) 4R Right Rate trial (in conjunction with Dr David Burton, Dalhousie Faculty of Agriculture) – replicated trial evaluating several rates of nitrogen application on Russet Burbank potatoes.
