Agronomy Update – Jan 15

Happy Friday afternoon,

Thanks to those that came out to our AIM local workshops this week on Weed Management with Andrew McKenzie-Gopsill.

A recording of Andrew’s presentation from Wednesday afternoon is available on the PEI Potato Agronomy site (www.peipotatoagronomy.com) on the Seminars/Workshops page.

I’ve also developed a factsheet with some of the key points from Andrew’s presentation, which is available here:  Weed Management in PEI Potato Production (PDF)

Upcoming AIM Local Workshops:

February 9-10:  Soil-Building Crops and Crop Rotation

March 9-10:       Seed Management

Watch for more details on these meetings as they get closer.

Virtual Conference Options:

One of the few silver linings of COVID this winter is more access to potato conferences that normally you’d have to travel to attend.  Instead, a number will be available from your office or couch.

Two conferences in January:

Jan 19-21, 2021.     Free virtual conference

Two Canadian virtual conferences in February:

Canadian Potato Summit

Feb 24-25, 2021.   Free virtual conference!

The beauty of a lot of these conferences is that if you can’t participate on the day, you can check out the presentations later if you’re registered.  Lots of interesting topics and speakers at these various conferences.
