AIM Local Workshops – Fall Cover Crops – Dec 8-10

We are going ahead with AIM local workshops this winter to share the results of local research with you in a small group setting, providing the opportunity for questions and discussion.

Our first set of meetings will be December 8th, 9th and 10th on the subject of Fall Cover Crops, with presentations by myself and Morgan McNeil.

Through trial work that we’ve been doing with the Living Labs Atlantic project as well as additional research by other partners, we should have lots to share with you on the use of fall-seeded cover crops before and after potatoes in rotation.  In addition, I will have some more data to share regarding fall hilling ahead of potatoes.

Meeting schedule:

Tuesday, December 8:  9:00 am              Emerald Community Centre

Tuesday, December 8:   1:30 pm              Mill River Resort

Wednesday, December 9:  1:30 pm         PEI Potato Board Meeting Room*

Thursday, December 10:  9:00 am            St. Peter’s Community Complex (Old School)

* For the December 9th meeting, we will be livestreaming the presentations online via Zoom.  If you are interested in viewing online, please register with me by December 7th and I will share the link with you.

To meet COVID protocols, I am asking producers/AIM partners to pre-register by December 7th.  We will have a maximum number of people allowed at each location.  We can only have 20 people total at the Dec 9th meeting here at the Board, hence making this meeting available online.  Producers will be given precedence for attendance at meetings, but other AIM partners are welcome to pre-register and if there is enough room you’ll be free to attend.

Look forward to seeing you at one of these meetings in December.  The full schedule for the rest of the winter will be forthcoming soon.
