  • Late blight spores continue to be detected in Maine.
  • Foliar late blight has been confirmed in Ontario and New York.
  • Alternaria spores are increasing in East Prince but are largely absent in most of the rest of the province.

Additional Notes:

  • Crop Update Meeting will be held next Tuesday, July 29th at 2:30 in-person at the Board office and on Zoom.
  • Most producers are reporting that potato crops are generally healthy.  Colorado potato beetles are an issue in some locations, as in-furrow treatments are starting to time-out.
  • I am looking for samples of early blight, brown spot, and black dot.  If you have plants exhibiting any of these symptoms, please let me know and we can arrange to collect a sample.  This is for survey purposes under AIM.
  • Some rain tonight would be most welcome for most fields, as the forecast looks pretty dry for next week.

Have a great weekend,

Ryan
